Day 1: Honolulu – Arrival
Aloha! Arrive in Honolulu and pick up your rental car at the airport. Settle into Waikiki, where city buzz, shopping and oceanfront energy meet, and ease into island time with a first walk along the beach at sunset.
Day 2: Honolulu
Climb Diamond Head for epic views over the coastline, then drive on to Pearl Harbor for a moving journey through history. An afternoon back on Waikiki Beach rounds off the day.
Day 3: Honolulu
Take the road to the North Shore and Haleiwa, Hawaii's surf capital, with its laid-back streets and food trucks. On the way back, paddle a kayak across the calm waters of Kaneohe Bay.
Day 4: Honolulu
Drive out to Hanauma Bay, one of the island's most beautiful beaches, where the sheltered reef teems with tropical fish. Last free hours in Honolulu before leaving Oahu.
Day 5: Lahaina / Wailea
Return your rental car at Honolulu airport and fly to Maui, where you pick up a new rental car on arrival. Head inland to ʻIao Valley, where sheer green ridges rise straight out of the rainforest.
Day 6: Lahaina / Wailea
Devote the day to Haleakalā National Park and its lunar volcanic crater, at its most spectacular at sunrise (subject to availability — advance reservation required). The descent through changing landscapes is an experience in itself.
Day 7: Lahaina / Wailea
Sail out to Molokini Crater to snorkel in the crystal-clear waters of this submerged volcano. Later, watch the surfers take on Maui's big waves.
Day 8: Lahaina / Wailea
Follow the coast road through scenic towns with their fishing harbors and historic charm. Enjoy a last Maui sunset on the beach, with a taste of local food.
Day 9: Lahaina / Wailea Departure
Return your rental car at the airport and board your flight home, carrying with you the colors and warmth of the islands. Aloha!
